Sealy

Sealy was founded by Daniel Haynes, who originated from the small town of Sealy in Texas USA. He built his first cotton filled mattress in 1881 and later in 1889, patented a machine that compressed cotton for use in the mattresses. During 1906 the patents and know how were sold to a Texas company that decided to use the name Sealy.

Sealy USA was soon a leader in the mattress industry and today is the largest mattress and bed manufacturer of bedding products in North America.

Sealy United Kingdom was started in 1974 and operates under licence from Sealy Inc USA. Sealy quickly started to flourish and has since established itself among the top UK mattress manufacturers and employs approximately 400 people. It is a member of the Silentnight group of companies.

Sealy mattresses are manufactured in all UK standard sizes including 2ft 6in Small Single, 3ft 0in Single, 4ft 0in Small Double, 4ft 6in Double, 5ft 0in King and 6ft 0in Super King.
